We’re enjoying every minute of Spring at Vineyard Johns Creek. We had plenty to celebrate last month and have much more coming up this May. Keep reading for more on how we are appreciating and experiencing the wonderful Johns Creek community this Spring.
Resident Spotlight
We wanted to introduce another future resident at Vineyard Johns Creek, Ms. Betty! Check out the wonderful things Ms. Betty shared with us during her ‘get to know you’ questionnaire.
- Who is the person who influenced your life the most? The person who influenced my life the most was my mother. She taught me all the rules of living and life.
- What was the happiest moment of your life? The happiest day of my life was June 2nd 1956. The day I got married to Charles. Was married for 65 1/2 years.
- What 3 people, famous, living or dead would you want at your fantasy dinner party? The three people that I would want at my fantasy dinner party are…Elvis, because I love to hear him sing. I saw him in concert in 1954. I’d also invite Tyler Hynes and Chris McNally, actors from the Hallmark Channel. They are both handsome and great actors.
Thank you so much for sharing, Betty. We can’t wait to welcome you to the Johns Creek community!
Music to Your Years
This month, we’re diving deep and talking about the dynamic effects that music can have on memory, mood, and overall happiness for seniors.
Music therapy can provide numerous benefits for older adults with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Music can be used to help your loved one access memories or past experiences and improve communication.
For more on the benefits of music therapy, check out this resource.
Podcasts for Seniors
Do you listen to podcasts? They’re the perfect background to a long drive, endless chores or even as part of your bedtime routine.
However, with so much content out there, it can be difficult to know where to start. With that in mind, our latest blog breaks down a list of the best podcasts for seniors. Take a look here to see some of our suggestions.
Vineyard Tribe
Meet Sharon, our Executive Director at Vineyard Johns Creek!
Sharon’s 14 years of experience in senior living administration, sales, and operations has been centered on building a team of caring professionals to serve residents and their families. Sharon believes that focusing on this goal ensures engaging resident programs, beautifully prepared meals, a well-run campus, and most importantly, encourages personal connections that enhance residents’ lives. At Vineyard Johns Creek we aim to provide opportunities for all of us, staff and residents, to grow together in meaningful ways.
