Resident Events
We have many fun planned events for our residents this month! Here’s a snapshot of events, outings, and activities we have going on in April ⏩
Passover & Easter Sunday
We had a blast celebrating Easter! Our residents decorated Easter eggs and got to participate in an Easter Egg hunt with our family and friends including our friends May River Montessori! 🐣🐰
New Tribe Members
Executive Chef, Bill German
Meet our Chef, Bill! Bill joins our team with over 12 years experience in the kitchen, working his way up from prep to executive sous chef. He is a native of Charleston and moved to the Beaufort area in April of 2022.
Bill enjoys creating a meaningful dining experience for our residents each day and believes that good food satisfies the soul. He is passionate about his role in our residents’ lives and we are so honored to have him as a part of our tribe!
Care Services Director, Jennifer Brett
Meet our Care Services Director, Jennifer! Jennifer has seven years of geriatric and hospice nursing experience followed by 13 years of urology experience. Jennifer and her family recently moved to Bluffton six months ago and this is her first position in SC. Her passion for geriatric nursing and advocacy led her to Vineyard of Bluffton where she currently serves as the Care Services Director.
Previously she volunteered in the community with the Red Cross, inpatient hospice facilities and the James Cancer hospital. She is passionate about providing our residents with the best care possible.
Reading Group
Our reading club is just one of our different groups that meet every week. We fill our activities calendar with a variety of options suited to fit every resident’s interests!
Ageism
Ageism can be one of the biggest challenges facing retirees. It can take on several forms, including discrimination for employment or volunteer opportunities, underestimating older adults or ignoring older adults.
At Vineyard Bluffton, we work to help all residents live life to the fullest, including assisting them in overcoming ageism. Our staff understands how painful ageist behavior can be and we consistently strive to recognize it, speak out against it and ensure it doesn’t happen in our community.
To learn more about ageism and ways you can work to stop the stigma and help end ageism, read our blog post.
